Enrolled in 1988 as Advocate of Bar Council of Tamilnadu, India. Kannan’s practice span over a period of sixteen years in Madras and Coimbatore. The training and blessing of legal luminaries like N.V. Naga Subramanian, the Civil Law doyen and N.T. Vanamamalai, the top ranking State Criminal Lawyer, made it possible to become one among the top creamy lawyers in the state.

Following the footprints of his grand father Lawyer Late Ramanujan Aiyangar, a stalwart of yesteryear Criminal practice who appeared in the infamous Load Norton murder trial during British era, Kannan accentuated the same spirit in an infamous movie theatre murder trial in the same Coimbatore Criminal courts where his grand father held his practice.

As a Criminal Defense Lawyer in the publicized Uniform and Footwear political scam launched against the former Chief Minister Jayalalitha’s cabinet Ministers and her colleagues, Kannan bought a new twist and turn with a media glare and popularity.

Specialization in Civil Litigation has placed him in an unenviable position and in-depth knowledge in the practice of law. As a trial lawyer, represented a few thousand clients in the past in India and conducted several injunction law suites against the local Government and individuals.
